webLyzard is an Austrian SME founded in 2008 that focuses on web intelligence and visual analytics research. Built on 20 years of  leading R&D  in AI-driven affective knowledge extraction, metadata visualisation and integrating collaborative and semantic Web technologies. Award-winning showcases such as the US Election Web Monitor, a Sustainability Intelligence platform developed for the United Nations and the Visual Navigator for NOAA Climate.gov reflect the reliability of WLT’s algorithms and the scalability of its distributed server cluster, which will also be made available for developing and hosting MultiPoD services. A strong track record of research funding from national and European programmes – including the 7th Framework Programme (FP7), Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe – and successful reference projects for international clients reflect webLyzard’s technology leadership and a consistently high rate of innovation.

StoryPact (SPA) is a research-focused Austrian startup developing Generative AI approaches to maximise the impact of stories. StoryPact focuses on crafting immersive experiences that connect individuals to larger societal issues, employing narrative-driven content to promote awareness and inspire action. SPA collaborates with NGOs, cultural institutions, and educational organisations to develop interactive projects that integrate storytelling with technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, interactive websites, and mobile applications. These projects are designed to make complex social issues more accessible and engaging, fostering a deeper public understanding and participation.

Re-Imagine Europa (RIE) is an international non-partisan think-tank based in Brussels, dedicated to transcending personal, national, or partisan interests to shape a visionary future for Europe.  The organisation uses technology to better deal with the most pressing issues of our time and build a stronger, more competitive, and fairer Europe. RIE collaborates with leading scientists and leverages an extensive network of knowledge and strategic partners to conduct research focused on narratives, public discourse, disinformation, and polarisation. 

RIE will serve as a communication and dissemination partner and, through its extensive network, will contribute to stakeholders’ engagement.

THE OPEN UNIVERSITY – KNOWLEDGE MEDIA INSTITUTE (OU)

The Open University’s Knowledge Media Institute was set up in 1995 in recognition of the need for the university to be at the forefront of R&D in the converging areas of Data and Information Sciences. Research is externally supported by the EC Framework Programmes, UK EPSRC and Jisc. KMI has extensive experience creating, managing and participating in national, EU and international research projects related to collective intelligence, data and text-mining, technology-enhanced learning, artificial intelligence and the Semantic Web.

OPEN-SOURCE POLITICS (OSP)

Open Source Politics (OSP) is a French social economy company specialising in open-source digital deliberation tools and designing all-scale participatory processes to help local communities, national governments and international institutions implement meaningful citizen engagement initiatives. OSP has been the main Decidim integrator since it became available in 2016 and has provided the multilingual platform for the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFE) 2021-2022. Currently, OSP is working with the European Commission on launching other pan-European participatory processes.

Founded in 1973, NOVA University of Lisbon is the largest Portuguese institution of higher education in the Social Sciences and Humanities, hosting 16 internationally recognised Research and Development centres. The two centres involved in MultiPoD, the Institute of Philosophy and the Linguistics Research Centre have extensive expertise in investigating the dynamics and rationality of public argumentation, argumentative patterns in health dialogues generated by Explainable AI, intelligent systems for improving linguistic competence, inclusive language and Emergency reception policies for vulnerable populations.

KENTRO MERIMNAS OIKOGENEIAS KAI PAIDIOU (KMOP)

Founded in 1977, KMOP (Social Action and Innovation Centre) is one of the longest-serving Greek civil society organisations with extensive experience in social service provision and implementing social initiatives. KMOP is active in seven countries, leveraging innovative technologies to engage with multilingual individuals and groups, promoting their social integration. This is evident through their work on promoting the participation of women in politics and preventing the radicalisation of young adults through social labs. MultiPoD will benefit from KMOP’s established networks for political participation, benefitting all EU citizens while specifically targeting non-participating vulnerable groups and minorities.

ETHOS LAB (ETHOS)

Founded in 2019, Ethos Lab is a Greek SME using data-driven behavioural insights to design and evaluate policies that promote social welfare. The ETHOS research team, composed of scholars in Economics, Behavioural Science, Politics & Social Sciences, has significant experience in designing, scaling up and evaluating social interventions. ETHOS has co-developed the Reframing Welfare Index to measure political participation in EU regions and track how it correlates with social welfare. In addition to that, ETHOS members have done extensive work on institutional uncertainty in multilingual environments, and political participation of diverse groups, e.g., young adults, women and the LGBTQI+ community.

DECIDIM ASSOCIATION (DECI)

The Decidim Association was conceived as the governance instrument of the Decidim community, that is, of the group of people and legal entities interested in the development, growth and improvement of the democratic infrastructure of digital participation based on free software Decidim.org. Its staff members are people who have worked from the beginning in the development of the software, by partaking in the definition and design of the various aspects that have ended up making this digital platform one of the main references in its field. Decidim is currently being used in various institutional contexts, including the City of Barcelona, the European Commission, the Government of Catalonia, the cities of Helsinki (Finland), New York (USA), the Brazilian Federal Government or the French National Assembly, among hundreds of others.
