D3.1 Knowledge Graph and Language Model for Cross-Cultural Transformation
WP3 | Other | Public
This deliverable presents the development and evaluation of the Culture-Specific Knowledge Graph and the Culture-Specific Language Model, two technologies that help participants understand each other across languages and cultures. It addresses the fact that misunderstandings in multilingual deliberation often come from cultural framing, ideology and values as much as from language. To test this, the team built a dataset in five European languages and used it to evaluate openly available language models on seven categories of culturally sensitive communication, including bias, stereotyping and framing. The results show that current models detect explicit problems well but still struggle with more implicit and contextual ones. The deliverable also explains how these tools will be integrated into Decidim, Storypact and the MultiPoD Dashboard.
